That will include building a<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>chapel, a dining room for 100 people, a food pantry and a welcoming and secure new entrance for guests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Officials said completion of Phase I and II will position the Open Door to receive national grants of up to $1.5 million, for which they have pre-qualified.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Phase III will make possible the men\u2019s emergency shelter and comprehensive support facilities.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Similar funding in Phase IV will provide for the men\u2019s recovery program floor, a one-year program to focus on core issues like job skills, drug addiction and mental health.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><!--more--><\/span>\u201cIf the community comes around us to ensure full funding of Phase I and II, the rest will become a reality.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve pared this initial $800,000 Phase back to $600,000, but we\u2019d like to see it funded as fully envisioned,\u201d said Kim Cook, Open Door president and CEO.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Tom Albrecht, Sr. of Hilltop Construction in Hudson Falls introduced the local team that will be responsible for each element of the Phase I construction and renovation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to be partnering with the Open Door, and to bring such a wonderful project to our community.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Now it\u2019s real.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s really happening.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s exciting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Andy Cruikshank from the Adirondack Health Institute said that awarding Open Door the $250,000 AHI Innovation Grant \u201cjust made sense.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s something the community needs and is intractably linked with health care.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We think this project is absolutely fitting.
