Through a series of sessions and tours, the class learns about different industries and the economic drivers in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, the Leadership Adirondack class chooses a fundraising project submitted by area nonprofit organizations. Last year\u2019s class raised over $8,000 for the Family Service Association of Glens Falls. This year, the class has chosen the Open Door Mission.<\/p>\n<p>Open Door is a faith based organization committed to filling the gaps in services not provided elsewhere in the community.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Leadership Adirondack program, visit www.adirondackchamber.org.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 New York State Fair awarded the <b>Argyle Cheese Farmer<\/b> a gold medal for its plain Greek yogurt, the highest award in this category.<\/p>\n<p>The company also won gold medals for its Sweet Greek chocolate mousse yogurt in 2016 and its maple Greek yogurt in 2015.\u00a0 In addition, its Amazing Grace aged cheese also won a silver medal in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Argyle Cheese Farmer products can be found at farmer\u2019s markets in Troy and Saratoga year around on Saturdays and at the Glens Falls summer market; in various retail stores including Healthy\u00a0 Living in Saratoga and at the farmstead retail shop on 990 Coach Road, Argyle.\u00a0 For more information or to order online, visit www.cheesefarmer.com.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Canada-based manufacturer of household paper products, <b>Irving Consumer Products<\/b>, which owns Irving Tissue Inc. in Fort Edward, \u00a0 broke ground on the construction of a $400 million state-of-the-art tissue plant in Macon, Ga.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the plant will create over 200 permanent, skilled jobs and allow it to continue to meet customers\u2019 growing demands.<\/p>\n<p>The company said thenew plant will produce ultra-premium quality household paper products including soft bath tissue and high quality paper towel that is both strong and absorbent.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lakegeorge.com\/business\/silver-bay-ymca-retreat-and-conference-center-3160\/\"><b> Silver Bay YMCA Conference and Family Retreat Center<\/b><\/a> has donated over 400 dining chairs and 50 dining room tables to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/business\/the-open-door-5701\/\"><b>Open Door Mission<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Silver Bay YMCA has started construction of its new William Boyd Center.
