With a goal of ensuring long-term, regional availability of the broadest array of healthcare services possible, Glens Falls Hospital has reached an agreement to sell its renal dialysis service to DCI (Dialysis Clinic Inc.), a leading nonprofit dialysis provider.<\/p>\n
DCI cares for more than 15,000 dialysis patients in more than 230 centers across the country, including locations in Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park and Albany. The sale is contingent upon approval by the state Department of Health.<\/p>\n
Patients are not expected to experience any changes to their treatment regimen. DCI will own and operate the Renal Dialysis Center on Broad Street in Glens Falls, and provide inpatient dialysis services at the hospital.<\/p>\n

Employees of Glens Falls Hospital\u2019s dialysis service line have been offered employment opportunities with DCI to ensure a seamless transition and to continue providing uninterrupted patient centered care.<\/p>\n
\u201cGlens Falls Hospital\u2019s responsibility to the community is to ensure access to as many diverse healthcare services as possible,\u201d said hospital President and CEO Dianne Shugrue. \u201cThe transfer of renal dialysis to DCI will put this critically important service in the hands of an organization that has excelled in its delivery for nearly 50 years.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would not be making this change unless we were fully confident that the care dialysis patients receive in the future will be as good as the care they receive today,\u201d Shugrue said. \u201cWe have met with DCI officials at length in recent months and found them to share Glens Falls Hospital\u2019s community values and commitment to quality care.\u201d<\/p>\n
As a leading nonprofit dialysis provider, DCI will supplement its expert local care with access to extensive national-level resources, including a clinical research department and national clinical trials, advanced employee training, and kidney disease education and medication therapy management programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
