{"id":30663,"date":"2018-03-15T15:05:05","date_gmt":"2018-03-15T19:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/?p=30663"},"modified":"2018-03-15T19:07:26","modified_gmt":"2018-03-15T23:07:26","slug":"business-briefs-march-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/2018\/03\/business-briefs-march-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Business Briefs: March 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Women in Business group of the<b> Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce<\/b> is sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on March 22 at the Holiday Inn Resort at 2223 Canada St. in Lake George. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">People can sign up to donate at redcrossblood.org.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On April 21, the group will help Double H Ranch during its annual Spring Clean Up Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested volunteers in the group may contact Women in Business co-chairperson Toni Cunningham &#x61;&#x74;\u00a0&#x74;&#x63;&#x75;&#110;n&#x69;&#x6e;&#x67;&#104;a&#x6d;&#x40;&#x6e;&#97;t&#x68;&#x65;&#x61;&#108;t&#x68;&#x63;&#x61;&#114;e&#x2e;&#x63;&#x6f;&#109; to sign up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> * * *<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) <b>Leadership Adirondack<\/b> class of 2018 presented a check for $13,000 to the Open Door Mission at the graduation ceremony in February at the Great Escape Lodge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As part of their leadership experience, each class chooses a nonprofit organization through a brief application process for which to raise funds. This year\u2019s class was tasked with planning and executing their choice of fundraising events for the Open Door Mission, which included a movie premier, a hockey night, several dining fundraisers and a very successful business mixer at forged restaurant in Hudson Falls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> * * *<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Associates of Glens Falls<\/b> and <b>Loomis &amp; LaPann<\/b>, in conjunction with the <b>Adirondack Thunder<\/b> hockey team, have donated $950 to the Open Door Mission in Glens Falls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Associates of Glens Falls and Loomis &amp; LaPann pledged to donate $25 for every Thunder goal scored at home this season and the $950 donation is the first of two that they will make this season. The Thunder scored 38 goals at home through Dec. 15 and the two parties will collaborate in a second donation in April following the conclusion of the Thunder\u2019s regular season. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> * * *<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <b>North Warren Chamber of Commerce<\/b> is seeking nominations for its annual VIP and Business of the Year Awards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Nominations are due to the Chamber by April 10 and can be sent via email, post or through its Facebook page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The VIP award recognizes an individual from the town of Horicon or Chester whose leadership role in civic activities and commitment to the community are outstanding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Business of the Year Award recognizes a local enterprise from either Horicon or Chester that has made notable accomplishments.
