The Adirondack Thunder hockey team, ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils playing at Cool Insuring Arena, has donated $17,950 to Special Olympics.
\nThe donation came from the post-game jersey auction after a Law Enforcement Appreciation night at Cool Insuring Arena. This amount is the largest donation in Adirondack Thunder history. The specialty jerseys were purchased and donated by the Sheriff\u2019s Offices of Washington, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties.
\nConor Riley\u2019s Law Enforcement Appreciation jersey sold for a team-high $1,500 in the auction, while captain James Henry\u2019s and goaltender Alex Sakellaropoulos\u2019 jerseys also topped the four-digit plateau.
\nThe Adirondack Thunder also donated a portion of their ticket sales to the New York State Sheriffs\u2019 Institute Summer Camp.<\/p>\n

The Chazen Companies\u2019 Alternatives Analysis for the Kaal Rock Park Connector won the Silver Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies.
\nThe award was in the category of Studies, Research and Consulting Engineering Services.
\nChazen coordinated with Scenic Hudson and the Poughkeepsie Alliance to develop a design for the proposed suspended walkway and associated park improvements in the city of Poughkeepsie, just north of the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Two years ago, Chazen won a diamond award, the highest level achievable, from ACEC for the Kaal Rock Project Feasibility Study in the same category.<\/p>\n

The Hyde Collection invites artists to participate in its annual Plein Air Festival, to be held Aug. 7 to 11 throughout the Glens Falls area.
\nThe festival celebrates the museum, community, and art inspired by the outdoors.
\nThe deadline for application is Monday, April 15. Participating artists will be selected by guest juror George Van Hook.
\nThe festival is open to all plein air artists. An application fee of $25 is required for submission of three to five images representative of plein air artworks. Each image should include a title, medium, dimensions, and the year the work was completed, as well as dimensions up to the nearest inch without matting or framing.
\nChecks should be made payable to The Hyde Collection and mailed to the attention of Jenny Hutchinson, The Hyde Collection, 161 Warren St., Glens Falls, NY 12801. Entry fees can also be paid in person at the front desk during museum hours, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Reflecting on the collective impact of Performing Provider Systems (PPSs) across the state, the state Department of Health has published a storybook highlighting Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program initiatives that have resulted in transformative health care change.

\nThe Comfort Food Community article speaks to the organization\u2019s efforts to eliminate food insecurity in the region by leveraging the community\u2019s physical and social resources. Among other initiatives, the organization developed food relief services involving individuals, families, farms, schools, social agencies and local businesses coming together to improve wellbeing through resource connections, health coaching and education and implementing strategies to increase the consumption of locally-sourced, nutritious foods.
\nThe SUNY Adirondack piece centers on funding received to support training and education in health care occupations identified as high-priority. The article spotlights Kayla Duers of Queensbury who received services to participate in a Certified Nurses Assistance course and was hired by a nursing home in Warren County.
