The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce will kick-off of the ARCC women\u2019s business council with a meeting 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at Rachel\u2019s Spice Cafe & Co., 240 Warren St., Glens Falls.
\nThe purpose of the council is to promote the affinity group of women-owned businesses, sole proprietorships, and women professional members of the ARCC to encourage increased business and collaboration among its ranks.
\nThis is an introductory\/informational meeting for women to attend and learn more about the council.

The North Warren Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual VIP and Business of the Year Awards.
\nNominations are due to the Chamber by April 26 and can be sent via email or postal service.
\nThe VIP Award recognizes an individual from the towns of Horicon or Chester whose leadership role in civic activities and commitment to the community are outstanding. The nominee should be someone who has made notable contributions to improving the lives of others through volunteerism and active community participation.
\nThe Business of the Year Award recognizes a local enterprise from either Horicon or Chester that has made notable accomplishments. They must be a member in good standing of the North Warren Chamber of Commerce; contribute and promote the economic growth, stability and improvement of the area which the Chamber serves; and volunteers or participate with community associations (i.e., Rotary, Business Alliance, Chamber, Helpers Fund, etc.).
\nBoth awards are decided by the Chamber\u2019s VIP committee. The awards dinner is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, at Jimbo\u2019s Club at the Point. Reservations can be made by contacting the Chamber.

The Adirondack Thunder has donated $25,169 to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital from funds raised during their \u201cStick It To Cancer\u201d weekend in March.
\nThe total donation comes from a multitude of funds that includes the post-game jersey auction, \u201cPaint The Ice\u201d vouchers sold, the 50\/50 proceeds from a March 9 game, autographed canvas photos with proceeds donated by Thunder photographer Andy Camp, and T-shirts were sold by the Thunder wives and girlfriends.
\nShane Conacher\u2019s purple specialty jersey sold for an Adirondack Thunder jersey auction record of $2,350, while nine additional Thunder jerseys reached the four-digit plateau, officials said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
