Campbell<br \/>\nSaratoga Hospital is proceeding with plans to construct a medical building at Exit 18 following unanimous approval by the Queensbury Planning Board at its April 30 meeting.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Planning Board process is now complete,\u201d said a spokesperson for Saratoga Hospital. \u201cThe site plan has been approved and a SEQRA negative declaration prepared.\u201d<br \/>\nWith no environmental issues to address, the next step is to submit final design plans to the town\u2019s building department. Then demolition can begin at 124 Main St. in Queensbury, site of the former Carl R\u2019s Mexican Restaurant.<!--more--><br \/>\nColumbia Development was hired for the project, which entails a brand new, 17,700-square-foot structure. How the space will be utilized is still in development and a timeline has yet to be established.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have worked with Columbia development on other projects, including Malta Med Emergent Care at Exit 12,\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cColumbia is one of several property development companies we work with.\u201d<br \/>\nBBL Construction is the general contractor and it is expected that local subcontractors, yet unnamed, will be hired on.<br \/>\nThe anticipated construction cost is $5 million with total project costs estimated at $6.5 million, according to the spokesperson. The timetable for completion is 10 to 12 months.<br \/>\nSaratoga Hospital has a medical staff of over 450 physicians and other credentialed providers, offering care in a broad range of medical specialties. Its facilities include Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Hospital Nursing Home, Wilton Medical Arts, Saratoga Surgery Center, Saratoga Community Health Center and the Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Susan E.
