So they created one.<br \/>\nSeafood on the Bay, at 21-27 Bay St., opened just before Christmas.<br \/>\nThe space, formerly occupied by Superior Cantina, has been vacant for nearly two years. It needed a lot of cleaning up and \u201cthe change from Mexican to ocean\u201d took some redecorating, Ni said.<br \/>\nThe chef is Zong Xin, who has worked at other restaurants in the area. In addition, there is a staff of seven employees and, since the place is family-owned, \u201ceverybody helps.\u201d There is seating for 100 people.<br \/>\nBusiness, so far, has been \u201cso-so &#8230; A lot of people don\u2019t know we are open,\u201d said Jennie Zheng, an employee. <!--more--><br \/>\nThe family owners held a grand opening event on New Year\u2019s Day, offering a free child\u2019s meal with every adult meal and half-price appetizers with drinks from the bar.<br \/>\nSeafood on the Bay is designed as a family restaurant. It will feature Cajun-style seafood dishes including crab legs, king crab, and several shrimp dishes.<br \/>\n\u201cAnd we give a good amount,\u201d Ni said.<br \/>\nThey also have a children\u2019s menu that includes fried fish and chicken wings.<br \/>\n\u201cPrepare to get your hands messy,\u201d Ni said.<br \/>\nNi\u2019s family already owns several seafood restaurants in the southern United States, she said. She has been in the restaurant business for 20 years.<br \/>\nSeafood on the Bay is open 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. seven days a week. The phone number is 518-741-7009.
