Mall officials say the spreading out of sales and discounts throughout the entire holiday season should help minimize Black Friday lines and crowds during the pandemic.

The 2020 holiday season is already a year like no other, which is why Aviation Mall is announcing new hours and initiatives to make the season safe and memorable for everyone, mall officials said.
\nEarlier this year, retail marketing experts accurately predicted that retailers would encourage consumers to start holiday shopping earlier by extending exclusive deals throughout the season in lieu of the traditional high-trafficked Thanksgiving\/Black Friday kickoff. Aviation Mall\u2019s Marketing Director Teresa Hanley said many of Aviation Mall\u2019s tenants are following the trend.
\n\u201cWe are seeing the early deals and shoppers and are encouraged by many of our tenants\u2019 plans to break up the traditional, one-day-only, Black Friday rush,\u201d said Hanley. \u201cThe spreading out of sales and deep discounts throughout the entire holiday season should help minimize lines and crowds. The deals to be had will be bigger than ever and available earlier than ever.\u201d
\nIn addition, Hanley announced that Aviation Mall will join fellow industry leaders by closing on Thanksgiving Day.
\n\u201cIf the challenges of the pandemic have taught us anything, it is the value of time with family. It is our hope that our guests, tenants and on-site staff will be able to spend additional time with their loved ones and re-charge during the most active shopping season of the year,\u201d she said.
\nAviation Mall has taken steps to ensure the safety of guests and employees by following guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), New York state and Warren County. Masks and social distancing will continue to be required to enter the property and guests are encouraged to follow the center\u2019s healthy shopper guidelines.
\nHanley said Santa is also coming to the mall this holiday season with a scheduled return to Aviation Mall in late November, along with new safety protocols.
