{"id":34211,"date":"2021-03-17T14:10:06","date_gmt":"2021-03-17T18:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/?p=34211"},"modified":"2021-03-17T14:10:06","modified_gmt":"2021-03-17T18:10:06","slug":"curtis-lumber-grows-with-acquisition-of-wiley-brothers-lumber-yard-in-schaghticoke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/2021\/03\/curtis-lumber-grows-with-acquisition-of-wiley-brothers-lumber-yard-in-schaghticoke\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtis Lumber Grows With Acquisition Of Wiley Brothers Lumber Yard In Schaghticoke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Curtis Lumber announced the acquisition of Wiley Brothers at 1854 Route 40 in Schaghticoke. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Wiley Brothers has been a family-owned lumber yard and home improvement store for 75 years. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Adding this new location brings the number of Curtis Lumber Co. locations to 23, all of which are independent, family-owned, full-service home centers and building supply yards. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Officials said moving forward, the store location will carry Curtis Lumber\u2019s premium products, superior hardware assortment, and be staffed with the expertise to cater to both builders and homeowners. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Curtis Lumber has long served the area with delivery service from nearby stores and this acquisition will serve to increase delivery and product availability to more of Rensselaer county.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><!--more-->\u201cWhen we were approached about adding Wiley Brothers to our existing store locations, we jumped at the chance,\u201d said Jay Curtis, president, and CEO. \u201cOur superior product assortment, award-winning delivery service, and extensive employee training program will only improve upon what has been a well-run family business.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">All Wiley Bros employees were offered positions with Curtis Lumber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Established in 1890, Curtis Lumber Co. serves eastern, central, and northern New York and Vermont. The company\u2019s 650 employees serve both consumers and professional builders alike.
