(StoredTech) vice president of sales.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Bearor has served as the CEO at the Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area for 12 years and the Y Movement for 29 years.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He has held both national and community leadership positions that include serving on the Adirondack Health Institute board of directors and as former vice chair of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He also served as chair of the National YMCA of the USA Small and Midsized CEO Cabinet and the State Alliance of New York State board of directors.<\/p>\n<p>Bearor received a bachelor\u2019s degree from Green Mountain College.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-35508\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/07\/p-brief-delate-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/07\/p-brief-delate-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/07\/p-brief-delate-65x65.jpg 65w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>SUNY Adirondack announced the appointment of <b>John Delate<\/b>, Ph.D., as vice president of enrollment and student affairs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Delate has more than 22 years of experience in higher education at public institutions in New York and New Jersey. He most recently served as associate vice president for student services at Monroe Community College.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He previously served as associate dean of student affairs at Purchase College and executive director of Residence Life at Montclair State University. Early in his career, he served in the Peace Corps in Liberia, West Africa, and coached college football. He is an adjunct professor of communications at Purchase. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In his role at SUNY Adirondack, Delate oversees Student Affairs, which includes the college\u2019s Educational Opportunity and TRIO SSS programs, and Student Engagement and Diversity Initiatives; and Enrollment, which includes Athletics, College Access, Enrollment Systems, Financial Aid, Student Success and Marketing and Communications.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Delate earned bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in social sciences from Manfield University (Pennsylvania), and master\u2019s and doctorate degrees in American History from Clark University (Massachusetts).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s2\"><!--more--><\/span><\/span>The Adirondack Thunder hockey team based in Glens Falls recently named <b>Pete MacArthur<\/b> as the fourth head coach in team history.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>MacArthur, 37, joins the Thunder behind the bench following a 14-year professional playing career. He played four seasons with Adirondack and is second all-time in franchise history in points (175) and assists (122) and is third all-time in games played (202) and goals (53). <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In this role, MacArthur will also be responsible for overseeing the club\u2019s hockey operations including managing support staff, and recruiting and signing players.
