Founder Gary Dake, president of Stewart\u2019s Shops, realized that health insurance would fund \u201cmedical necessities\u201d but would not approve recreational equipment or activities, and he vowed to work to close that gap. Since then, the foundation has helped connect more than 330 children with adaptive bikes, tricycles, swings, strollers, and communication tools that allow them to have the fun, carefree experiences that every child deserves.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-35605\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/08\/p-brief-majek-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/08\/p-brief-majek-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/08\/p-brief-majek-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/08\/p-brief-majek-65x65.jpg 65w, https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2022\/08\/p-brief-majek.jpg 432w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>SUNY Empire State College hired <b>Julieta (Julie) Majak<\/b> as vice president for administration and finance position based in Saratoga Springs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Majak will serve as SUNY Empire\u2019s senior business and financial officer, responsible for overseeing development of policies, procedures, and controls to ensure sound management of the college\u2019s financial, human, technology, and physical resources. She will also serve as treasurer of the Empire State College Foundation board.<\/p>\n<p>She served as assistant vice president for administration and campus controller at SUNY New Paltz, where she oversaw the college\u2019s fiscal operations, including procurement and contracting, accounting services, accounts payable, internal controls, facilities finance and administration, and risk management.<\/p>\n<p>In her 29 years at SUNY New Paltz, Majak<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>served in progressively senior roles within the division of finance and administration, from associate director of telecommunications and administrative services to director of administrative services and assistant vice president for research administration.<\/p>\n<p>She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in marketing and management from Siena College and a master\u2019s degree in educational administration from SUNY New Paltz. She also completed the SUNY and Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations Leadership Development Program, and she served as the 2021 Fellow for the SUNY Hispanic Leadership Institute.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s2\"><!--more--><\/span><\/span>Saratoga Hospital has named <b>Lisa West <\/b>administrative director of emergency and urgent care services, responsible for operations at the hospital\u2019s Alfred Z. Solomon Emergency Center and urgent care centers in Wilton and Queensbury.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>She also oversees operations at Malta Med Emergent Care, where she previously served as site administrator.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>West, of Clifton Park, has more than 30 years of nursing experience and has held leadership positions in emergency services, case management, inpatient nursing and long-term care.<\/p>\n<p>A registered nurse, West holds a master\u2019s degree in nursing, with a specialization in leadership and management, from Walden University in Minnesota. She is pursuing a doctorate in nursing practice from Chamberlain University in Illinois.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>West is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association, American Nurses Association and American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
