Forty-nine years later the company boasts 36 skilled craftsmen and covers an area that stretches from Albany to Schroon Lake, New York.<\/p>\n<p>After 46 years of hard work and dedication to the company and the community Tom and Cindy retired in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The company is now owned and operated by their daughter April Washburn, son Tom Albrecht Jr. and April\u2019s Husband Dan Washburn .<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re in a unique region where the construction industry is doing really well,\u201d said Dan Washburn, vice president of commercial operations. \u201cWe have found our niche and continue to grow each year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One reason for the company\u2019s success, said Washburn, is that they have built up a loyal clientele that knows their projects will be done on time, on budget, and with quality workmanship.<\/p>\n<p>The Design\/Build firm does both residential and commercial projects.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur projects are custom designed and built to fit the desire of each individual customer \u201d said Washburn<\/p>\n<p>On the residential side the company specializes in extensive home renovations as well as custom built homes from Saratoga to Schroon Lake.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><strong><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s2\"><!--more--><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some of the more recent commercial projects would include over 70 new Stewart\u2019s shops, Brummer\u2019s trailer sales, Garvey Hyundai, projects for Glens Falls National bank, ZZ Petroleum in Malta, a Lake George RV Park bathhouse.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020 Hilltop Construction partnered with Kirby Building Systems.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are currently using this pre-engineered technology to erect a new distribution warehouse for Garvey Hyundai,\u201d said Washburn.<\/p>\n<p>Hilltop decided to invest and expand to build a new 10,000-square-foot office and shop for the company in August of 2023 using a combination of a Kirby Metal Building &amp; conventional framing.<\/p>\n<p>In spite of a slowdown during COVID and a challenging economy currently, Washburn said they are extremely fortunate. He noted that while the economy is \u201cnot great,\u201d the region is doing better than elsewhere in the country and he is anticipating a strong year in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that while there is a significant labor shortage, Hilltop\u2019s crew is stable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of our team members have been with us for over a decade,\u201d he said. \u201cThat speaks volumes about their dedication and work ethic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He admits that Hilltop is not immune from the labor shortage issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe could use four or five new crew members, but the qualified candidates aren\u2019t out there,\u201d he said.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In addition to providing quality work to clients, Washburn feels it is important to give back to the communities that have treated the company so well for so many years .<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have given back to so many local organizations and have sat on a lot of different boards and will continue to do so because that is part of our mission\u201d said Washburn<\/p>\n<p>For more information about Hilltop Construction log onto www.HilltopConstructionCo.com.
