Last week the Gourmet Gals and I had a lovely dinner at Mary’s house. Or barn, I should say! That’s right, she lives in The Barn on Chestnut Ridge Road – a 100 year old dairy barn that has been transformed into 4,000 square feet of luxury. It truly looks like a home straight out of Better Homes & Gardens. Take a look..
I love the loft..
And of course the Gourmet Kitchen!
During our tour, Mary showed us a secret hiding door that led us to the old Silo where they used to keep grain for the goats. We climbed up the spiral stairs, and waiting for us was an absolutely breathtaking view of the Adirondacks and Green Mountains.
After the tour, we then got to cooking!
We enjoyed some fresh homemade Sangria:
And then enjoyed a fabulous dinner! We made Marinated Lime Chicken, homemade Spicy Corn Relish, Green Rice with Chili’s and Cilantro, Grilled Zucchini and Avocado Salad. (Hard to see in the picture, but it was absolutely amazing!)
We all had a wonderful time. Thank you Mary and Michael for being such gracious hosts and inviting us to your lovely home! Want to take a virtual tour of the The Barn on Chestnutridge? Visit their website here!
