The mince pie, also known as mutton or Christmas pie is a traditional British dish at Christmas time.
I’ll relay this recipe to you in Meryl Dawes’ words. I think she has done a bang up job of keeping this pie recipe simple!
“So easy to make! Make your own or buy pre-made pie crust pastry. Use a cookie cutter to cut out rounds and stars. Press rounds into greased muffin pans and put about a teaspoon full of pre-made mincemeat ( always available at this time of the year in supermarkets, but hard to find at other times..). Place star on the top and press down. Bake at 415’F for around 7 mins. Do not under or over cook. Pastry looks slightly brown when cooked. Cool and enjoy! Slightly warm is best, and cream makes them a real treat!”
