Hey foodie friends! How’s everyone enjoying this great grilling weather in the Glens Falls area? It’s certainly about time after all the rain we’ve had!
If you’re tired of grilling burgers, steaks, chicken and hot dogs, this is a great idea for something different to try.
There are endless options to what you can do with this grilled pizza recipe. Try different sauces, toppings, cheeses and doughs to make your pizzas as healthy or as decadent as you’d like!
This is a fun idea to do with the kids. Make individual pizzas and let them top their own.
You can buy pre-made dough at your local grocery store’s produce section or local pizza restaurant. For a healthier pizza dough, use wheat or your favorite gluten free pizza dough.
- Dust your work surface and the top of the dough with flour, so it won’t stick.
- Roll to desired thickness
- Brush very lightly with olive oil
- Place it on the grill for about 4 – 5 minutes
- Turn over and top with your desired ingredients.
- Close the cover to melt the cheese (check frequently)
If you prefer to use a pizza pan, they make some great pizza pans for the grill. This is one of my favorites.
I love to use fresh veggies on pizza. How can you not use fresh veggies with all the great farmers markets in the Glens Falls area?
I like to season the veggies, drizzle with olive oil and grill them off to the side while the first side of the pizza grills.
This one is topped with pesto sauce, grilled zucchini, red onion, red peppers, and farm fresh mozzarella cheese. Delicious!
