The 21st Annual Whipple City Days Festival, held Father’s Day weekend in Greenwich, NY is just a few months away. Once just a local craft fair, over the years the festival has grown in popularity to include a parade; craft, commercial, and food vendors, along with games and live entertainment. Changes to the festival this year will certainly make it even more popular!
This year the festival will run Friday and Saturday only (June 14 and 15), due to Sunday being Father’s Day and the day with the lowest attendance. Other major changes you can expect are Artisan’s Market in the main park, featuring local craft vendors and a beer garden, hosted by the Adirondack Pub and Brewery of Lake George, NY, which is expected to be a large draw.
The event will still be held in Mowry Park and will begin Friday evening at 6pm with a themed parade. This year’s theme is “Friday Night at the Movies.” A regional contemporary Irish group, “Hair of the Dog,” will be the live music Friday night. The festival will begin again at 8:30am on Saturday with a 5k race, affordable family games, food vendors, exhibits, free horse-drawn carriage rides, and a Revolutionary and Civil War re-enactment! Admission is free.
