Uncorked is one of the small businesses Chase Bank may gift with an award of a $250,000 grant.
Chase Bank has created the Mission Main Street Grants to give 12 worthy small businesses a $250,000 grant from Chase, a trip to Google for an exclusive workshop for small businesses with Google experts and a Google Chromebook Pixel laptop.
To qualify for consideration, Glens Falls’ UnCorked needed to receive at least 250 votes from all of their supporters, which they succeeded with this week! If UnCorked wins the grant, the new UnCorked Wine Bar/Restaurant will open in the Charles Wood Theater early in 2014.
UnCorked in downtown Glens Falls is a local wine destination
that carries world-wide and world-class wine and spirits including a great selection of local and New York wines. Margot and Rich Cirino, the proprietors of UnCorked Glens Falls (formerly New York Wine Cork), opened in 2000 in Hartford and moved to their Glens Falls location in 2005. The Cirinos culled a loyal following when they made their own Liberty Red wine, but had to sacrifice wine making in 2007 in order to get a wine license and be able to offer UnCorked patrons more than just New York labels.
With a new name in 2008 and a new license, UnCorked has been growing exponentially in the community. They thank their supporters and fans for voting for them for the Chase Main Street grant.
The Chase Bank panel will deliberate until January 2014 when they will announce the 12 winners. Voting ends November 15, 2013. You cannot nominate a business for the grant, but you should encourage your favorite businesses to apply to the Mission Main Streetâ„ Grants Program at www.missionmainstreetgrants.com.
