A one hundred and twenty-eight photograph collection of significant American and international photographers has been gifted to The Hyde Collection by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. This transformational gift enhances the Hyde Museum’s photography collection and adds a significant component to its world-class holdings of fine art.
The gifted photography collection includes works from Ilse Bing, Henri Cartier-Bresson, William E. Dassonville and more.
When asked about his gift to The Hyde, ABC’s “Goodmorning America” anchor George Stephanopoulos stated, “Our whole family is thrilled that this collection has found the perfect home. Knowing these images will be seen and valued makes us very happy.”
This new photography collection parallels two photography exhibits at The Hyde, now through April 20:
- Ansel Adams: Early Work
- Photo-Secession: Painterly Masterworks from the Turn-of-the-Century Photography
The Hyde Collection is located at 161 Warren Street, Glens Falls, New York. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am – 5pm; Sunday 12noon to 5pm.
