Goodbye spring training, and hello baseball season! It’s time to show your support for the home team, so why not bring the whole family to watch our own Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) team the Glens Falls Dragons play their home opener on June 3 against the Amsterdam Mohawks?
After a successful inaugural 2015 season, the Glens Falls Dragons, previously known as the Golden Eagles, will feature a talented roster consisting of both new and recognizable players!
Returning pitchers Matt Stojkov, from Northwood University, and Jake Murray, from Rhode Island College, will bring their college experience and leadership skills to help guide the newer members of the team.
The Dragons have also brought in three Division I players out of Siena College, outfielders Alex Tuccio and Daniel Lowndes, and pitcher Justin Scala, all of whom are expected to have a major impact on the upcoming season.
Although the Glens Falls Dragons’ season officially opens with two road games in Saugerties and Albany on June 1 and 2 respectively, the June 3 game at East Field in Glens Falls will be their first home game.
The summer season runs from June to July, and if the team does well, extends into early August. The home game starts at 7:00pm, and everyone is welcome to attend, with East Field tickets only costing $5 for adults and $3 for kids 12 and under.
If you see the Dragons’ friendly green and red mascot Cooper the Dragon, don’t be afraid to say hi!
