Has it been a while since you’ve visited The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls? Or, have you never been there before? If you said yes to either question, then you won’t want to miss out on Smithsonian magazine’s 13th annual Museum Day Live!, an initiative in which participating U.S. museums, such as The Hyde, will offer free admission on Saturday, September 23, 2017 (to visitors with a free Museum Day Live! ticket).
Learn About The Hyde
The Hyde Collection isn’t your average art museum. Rather, it’s one of the most exceptional small art museum complexes in all of the Northeastern U.S., featuring a permanent collection of over 4,000 works by acclaimed artists. The Hyde also hosts lectures, cultural events, activities, and more in its museum complex and historic house.
The museum’s current exhibitions include:
- To Distribute and Multiply: The Feibes & Schmitt Gift – An exhibition featuring the works of Josef Albers and other major 20th century artists, such as Jean (Hans) Arp, Ellsworth Kelly, and Andy Warhol.
- Ellsworth Kelly: Slow Curve & Fruits and Flowers – Check out these two exhibitions devoted to the printed work of Ellsworth Kelly, one of the most influential artists of the Postwar era.
