Summer is a great time to expand your family’s horizons, and new programs at the World Awareness Children’s Museum can help kids and families to do just that.
One series is called Explore, Create, Investigate! These Monday morning workshops run from July 16th through August 27th and will feature a different craft every week, including drawing, sculpting, mixed media and painting. The theme will relate to the museum’s new exhibit, called “Water, Water, Everywhere!” The hourlong workshops start at 10:30 am and are free with the $5 admission (free for children under 3).
Tuesdays at the museum will feature another workshop called Paint and Sip, which runs now through Aug. 21. The start time is 1:30 p.m. and the cost is $20 per child/adult duo. Each class means a chance to paint and receive instruction, so it’s advised that interested participants should call and register at 518.793.2773.
A third program will take place at the Lake George Association Boat Launch, located at Lower Amherst Street in Lake George. This workshop is called Water, Water, In Our Lake. This weekly floating classroom excursion takes place at 10 am on Thursdays now through August 23rd. Cost is $5 per person or $15 for 4! Call the museum at 519.793.2773 to register.
The weekday will be capped with Storytime Fridays, which run now through August 31st at 10:30am! This series of cultural stories is suitable for ages 3 and up, and is also free with the price of admission.
