The Adirondack Theatre Festival’s summer season may have ended, but Downtown Glens Falls is still a great place to enjoy a show. Head out to the Charles R. Wood Theater this week to catch Footloose – The Musical, performed by students from Broadway Upstate.

Footloose follows Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves from Chicago to a small town. Ren soon learns that the local Reverend has banned dancing in the wake of a tragic accident. Determined to change the Reverend’s mind, Ren and his new friends work together to bring dancing back to the town.
Performances will be given every night at 7 pm, Thursday, August 15 through Saturday, August 17, with matinee shows at 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday, August 18.
The actors, who have trained in Broadway Upstate’s musical theater program and auditioned to be in the production, will be performing alongside a live orchestra. The production crew features director Rachel Seebode, choreographer Lisa Higley, and musical director Matthew Gaulin.
For eight years, Broadway Upstate has trained talented local students in the performing arts, including acting, dance, and musical theater.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online, at the box office, or upon arrival.
