Glens Falls Recognized for High Level of Tree Care
Glens Falls Acting Mayor James Clark announced today, April 7, that the Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Glens Falls with a Tree City USA Award. This award is given annually to highlight communities that demonstrate a high level of tree care, and that facilitate community engagement with its trees.
“Glens Falls has always been known for its tree-lined streets and forested parks,” Clark said in a statement. “It’s part of the city’s identity.”
According to submissions to the Warren County Tree Challenge there are seven remarkable trees in Crandall Park alone.
Note: Restrooms in the Field House are still closed.
Grateful Den Owners Buy the Building
After taking control of The Grateful Den in 2019, Dave Spory and his fiance Carrie Bronzene have now purchased the building as well, which includes an upstairs apartment in addition to the restaurant and bar, reports Foothills Business Daily.
The couple was dealt a tough blow after COVID hit just three months after they took over the business, but they’ve worked hard, made use of takeout, and host live music and trivia every week.
