Chez Pierre Turns 60

Chez Pierre, the exquisite French restaurant in Gansevoort that is perfect for date nights, is celebrating 60 years in business.

To honor the milestone, they're inviting customers to enjoy a special menu for two at just $60 - this is a steal from this fine dining eatery. The prix fixe dinner menu is available through April 30.

There's a New Jeweler In Town

Hannoush Jewelers has opened a new location, their third, in Queensbury, having taken over the former Louis Jewelers space at 1054 Route 9. Their other locations are in Clifton Park and Albany.

The 3,500-square-foot space has been renovated with a dedicated bridal section and a Gabriel & Co. Store-in-store.

Visit them 10am to 6pm Monday through Friday, or 10am to 5pm Saturday.

Uncle Mario's Garage to Take Over Farmstead Flatbread Space

A new restaurant is preparing to open in Queensbury at the former Farmstead Flatbread Space at 1066 Route 9.

Uncle Mario's Garage is in conversation with the Queensbury Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals, according to the Glens Falls Chronicle.

Mario DiSiena, who owns The Furniture House next door, has purchased the space and been renovating it for the past two years.

Uncle Mario's Garage will be a car-themed restaurant with offerings similar to that of Farmstead Flatbread, including wood-fired pizza.

Glens Falls Will Kick Off Summer With a Mermaid Festival

Have you heard? A new festival is coming to town - the first-ever Glens Falls Mermaid Festival is slated for Saturday, June 22 in downtown.

Highlights are expected to include:

  • Live entertainment
  • A costume parade
  • A costume contest
  • A treasure hunt
  • Kids activities
  • Photo opps
  • Restaurant specials

This is adult- and kid-friendly, and guests are encouraged to dress up as a mermaid, merman, pirate, or sea creature!
