Indian Lake NY

A songwriter once camped in this town, and the result was a 1960's hit single, "Indian Lake" by the Cowsills.

The area is still well-known for its scenery and fun activities, as mentioned in the jingly song. It has been called both the Moose Capital of the Northeast, and the Whitewater Capital of New York State.

While moose are not exactly frolicking in the streets, whitewater rafting is still rampant in the area, and several companies operate seasonally to bring the activity to be a fun pastime for all skill levels. Indian Lake takes its name from a picturesque lake located within the town.
