However, what really sets Glens Falls apart from other communities is all of the amazing events that bring people together. No matter the time of year, there’s a festival or gathering to look forward to. The most recent event to take over downtown was Boo 2 You, a Halloween-themed festival that we excitedly attended. Read on to hear our first-hand account of the festivities, and learn about more upcoming events in the Glens Falls Region.
A Spooktacular Celebration
People of all ages came out in costume for Boo 2 You, a family-friendly Halloween-themed celebration on Glen Street. The block party featured spooky performances by local dance groups, a petting zoo, pony rides, a pumpkin carving contest and more! We loved seeing all of the creative costumes – especially the families who coordinated their outfits! (Shout out to the family dressed as dinosaurs)
Boo 2 You was free to attend and offered plenty of entertainment for kids, teens and adults. Tons of talented local dancers stole the show in the middle of Glen Street – we were so impressed by their creepy and coordinated routines! Attendees were invited out to the dance floor as well. When the youngest block party-goers weren’t off collecting candy, playing at the Fun Zone or exploring Haunted Hogwarts at St. Mary’s-St. Alphonsus School, they were showing off their dance moves in the street between performances.
It’s No Trick, Candy Lane Was Overflowing With Treats
Why take the little ones out in the middle of the week when they can safely collect their candy at an exciting and convenient weekend event? “Candy Lane” was lined with businesses and organizations who were prepared with goodies for the kids. Residents of Cronin High Rise along Ridge Street (“Candy Row”) were also handing out sweets. We had a great time giving out candy with The Wood Theater – by the end of the event all six of our bowls had been completely depleted!
