as i begin blogging, i am reminded of a book that i read a couple years ago JULIE & JULIA, by Julie Powell, who was determined to use all 524 recipes from julia child’s, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. she then created a foodie blog where she shared her triumphs and disasters. the important lesson julie learned from the master was the art of living with gusto. i learned some neat things about julia child and of course saw myself on many pages. the business which i have created has filled me with much joy and not so much frustration, although at times, it seemed that the art of multi-tasking was challenged. there are a number of artists (the painting type) in our family and i have now realized that what i do is definitely a form of art. i know this because i have creative urges and these can be fulfilled with food creations. i cannot paint. the cafe and catering business named for my daughter, samantha, has kept itself afloat for 23 years with the overwhelming help and love of many associates, and a lot of work. my life is “gustoesque” i guess mostly because, at my age, i look forward to going to work every day, and i still CAN go to work everyday!
