on sat., jan. 22, we had our first fashion show/luncheon at samanthas and real men did eat quiche. on the menu was a remarkable vegetable gumbo ( from the food network magazine…with a little help from me), squash apple bisque, green salad and quiche. we also served a fruity punch, iced tea, coffee and cookies. the cafe was filled to capacity with just enough “runway” room for the 13 models from finders’ keepers, a consignment business literally right next door. what fun and such exciting fashions. i bought a handmade hat that was a table decoration. there were also jewels attached to black velvet display cushions on smaller tables. they hung long fancy dresses from the pipes which are part of the intrigue of the old shirt factory. (ceilings are 14 feet high!). based on the response of the “show-goers”, we will have to do this again. thank god for michele who took the reins and led the lunch part of the show!
