It’s no secret that kids love to get their faces painted. Whether it’s a little girl experiencing her first makeover, or a boy trying on the guise of a superhero, face painting offers a colorful chance to adopt a new persona. Teenagers and adults might shy away from face painting, but they shouldn’t hesitate when they are in the capable hands of a talented and experienced face painter like Sue Ferdinand. Luckily, Ferdinand is coming to Take a Bite to add some color to the summer series — and to your face!
Sue Ferdinand is first and foremost a mother and grandmother, and has been a Realtor for 3 decades. A slighlty newer love of hers though, is face painting.
When Ferdinand moved to the Adirondacks in 1995, she began face painting at the suggestion of a local crafter. Today, face art competes with real estate for Sue’s attention; when she’s not dealing with all things real estate, you can usually find her wielding a #4 round sable brush, creating fabulous face art.
Ferdinand uses Mehron cosmetic quality face paint, which are made of a combination of natural materials such as aloe, chamomile, glycerin, avocado oil and cocoa butter. This allows the paints to have especially rich, vibrant, and colorful coverage. Ferdinand isn’t afraid to rhinestones and glitter to her designs either.
So, if you want to add some color to your summer nights, head to Take A Bite, the celebration of downtown Glens Falls happening every Wednesday from July 18 to August 29. There’ll be special deals, delicious tapas, talented street performers, and specutacular face art!
