Our dedicated soldiers will receive a well-deserved tribute next Saturday, June 13 in honor of their service and sacrifice!
The Saratogian has reported that this full-day event at The Parks-Bentley Place (53 Ferry Blvd) in South Glens Falls will kick off at 10:00am with a brief ceremony and naming of local soldiers. Boy Scout Troop 99 will be in attendance and a presentation of Parks-Bentley’s period flags will also take place.
Another scheduled highlight is an 11:15am musical performance by Judy Rosebrook, a local artist who has received national recognition for her work. She will sing songs from the 19th century to honor all soldiers.
Perhaps one of the most exciting features of the day will be a concert at 1:15pm by “Flame,” a world-renowned band that has even appeared on “Good Morning America.” The Saratogian writes that “Flame’s appearance in South Glens Falls is made possible with a 2015 Community Arts Grant from Saratoga Arts through its Saratoga Program for Arts Funding, made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts.”
At 2:00pm, house and exhibit tours of The Parks-Bentley Place will be available for those who are interested. The full-day event will be taking place outdoors, so make sure you come prepared with blankets or chairs and something for lunch. For more information on the tribute, call 518-792-1850.
