Audrey Flack: Heroines will be opening in The Hyde’s Hoopes Gallery on September 26, and is the museum’s major display of the season. The exhibition’s pieces highlight women who have been neglected or demonized by history, and they offer visitors the unique opportunity to experience work that was created in the recent past.
Ms. Flack has had a celebrated career over the past six decades, and has had work featured at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and other internationally renowned museums. She is widely considered to be a pioneer of photorealism, but her talents also include printmaking and sculpting.
The Hyde’s other fall exhibition, Pulled Pressed and Screened: Important American Prints, will be opening in the museum’s Charles R. Wood Gallery on October 11. This display covers 50 years in the growth and popularity of printmaking among American artists.
Be sure to visit The Hyde Collection this fall to experience both exhibitions for yourself!
