It’s the season of giving, and a local charitable organization needs your help!
According to The Post Star, the Salvation Army of Greater Glens Falls has been forced to shut down multiple Red Kettle drive sites due to a shortage of volunteers. The organization has also reported that collections of money, food, and toys have been lower than usual.
“Food donations are very low again, as are toy donations,” Major David Dean told The Post Star. The organization also experienced a shortage of financial contributions prior to Thanksgiving, but was still able to provide Thanksgiving baskets to 494 families. The Salvation Army plans to help approximately the same number of families during Christmas.
If you are interested in contributing to the Salvation Army’s final push before Christmas, call 518-792-1960, or stop in to their location at 37 Broad Street in Glens Falls.
