Looking to flex your creativity? The Hyde’s got you covered! Throughout August, The Hyde Collection is hosting its second annual Hyde Night Out series. Every Thursday night starting at 6 p.m., take part in these fun community events that are sure to spark your imagination!
Need a good challenge? Join The Hyde and The Upstate Alliance for the Creative Economy (ACE) for an art-themed treasure hunt! Follow clues, explore the museum, and meet with art lovers and creative professionals. Inspired by the exhibit To Distribute and Multiply: The Feibes & Schmitt Gift, the treasure hunt will allow participants to learn more about how design impacts our culture. The free “Behind the Scenes” event is the first in a series of three hosted by ACE, with others coming to SPAC and Yaddo!
Bring your artsiest friends along for this collaborative game of chance! Teams of three or four will compete to create a work of art. But here’s the twist: you will only get to use the items provided inside a mystery box. Judges will select the best works, and winners will receive a prize. All art, however, will be put on display in The Hyde’s own Rotunda Gallery!
- Want to be on a team? contact Museum Educator Jenny Hutchinson at 518-792-1761 ext. 327 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Admission to be in the audience is $10 for Museum members and $12 for non-members.
Two creative mediums combine with this performance by Skidmore Dance Department! Choreographers Debra J. Fernandez and Jason Ohlberg, with an amazing group of dancers from Skidmore College, show their interpretation of The Hyde’s Ellsworth Kelly: Slow Curve exhibition. Admission for Curve Effect is $12, or free for Hyde members and Skidmore faculty, staff, and students.
