The Hyde Collection is once again offering a pay-what-you-will admission for the entire month of December, which will kick off this Friday. In addition, the museum is asking for the public’s feedback so they can better serve the local community.
Pay as You Wish
The Hyde admission is typically $12 for non-members, $10 for seniors, and free for students, active military, and kids 12 and under. For the entirety of December, you can enjoy all The Hyde has to offer with a voluntary donation based on your experience.
This is the third year the museum has offered the Pay as You Wish program, which is intended to celebrate the museum and allow everyone access to the incredible collection of world-class art.
The program also includes a survey asking for your thoughts.
The Hyde Wants Your Feedback
The Hyde uses this opportunity to gather valuable information on what works well at the museum and what improvements could be helpful.
“We take the surveys very seriously,” Tawn Malison, Director of External Affairs, said in a statement. “Our goal is to provide an engaging art experience, and our visitors are in the very best position to help us do that.”
The Hyde has indeed made significant changes based on feedback received in prior years from these surveys, such as a year-round free admission day for seniors and more interactive programming.
A Little Holiday Fun
With the Pay as You Wish program running throughout the month of December, visitors taking advantage of this opportunity will also be able to enjoy the historic Hyde House decorated for the holidays.
The courtyard will be a prime spot for holiday selfies, and, if you can find Gus the Elf on the Shelf, some “elfies” as well.
Even More Deals
The Pay as You Wish program isn’t the only deal being offered by The Hyde during December. There are special offers going on all month long: new members receive a $10 discount on all participating level and below memberships, and anyone who makes a donation will receive a 10% discount on the current exhibition catalog, A Shared Legacy: Folk Art in America.
Also, current and renewing members can purchase gift memberships of participating level and below at half price throughout December. Any member who brings two or more non-member guests with them to visit The Hyde will receive a complimentary paperback copy of A Shared Legacy: Folk Art in America, while supplies last.
