The Lake George Winter Carnival is coming to an end, so if you’ve been meaning to check it out make sure you make it over there this weekend! There’s also a fun play festival to check out at the Charles R. Wood Theater and five other worthwhile events happening in the Glens Falls area.

Saturday, February 24 to Sunday, February 25
It’s the last weekend this year to enjoy the Lake George Winter Carnival! While the warming weather may affect some of the activities that typically happen on the ice, there will still be plenty of fun things to do: s’mores at the beach, a hot chocolate bar, a Bloody Mary contest, a chicken wing cook-off, and more.
Friday, February 23 to Saturday, February 24
Teams of 10 will compete to write a 10-minute play that actors will then bring to life at the Charles R. Wood Theater. The audience decides on the best play, actor, and actress. Extra votes can be purchased for $1!
Friday, February 23
Slate Valley Center in Granville has been celebrating CenterFest all month with jazz, blues, gospel, bluegrass, folk, and country music. This Friday marks the end of the festival with New Country Band.
Fun With the Thunder
Saturday, February 24
The Thunder is facing off against the Reading Royals at the Cool Insuring Arena on Saturday, which also happens to be Military Appreciation Night. The Thunder will be wearing special military-themed jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game, with proceeds going towards the Ben Osborn Fund.
Sunday, February 25
The Thunder will be taking on the Wheeling Nailers. Youth and student tickets are just $10 for this game, and it’s also Team Autograph Night, offering an opportunity for fans to meet with the players in Heritage Hall.
Museum Events for the Kids
Sunday, February 25
The World Awareness Children’s Museum is getting into the Olympics this weekend with a fun workshop for kids ages 3 to 8. The children will get to enjoy fast curling games and check out snow scenes drawn by children from around the world. The workshop is free with museum admission.

Are your kids currently on February break? Round the week off with a workshop at The Hyde Museum. Kids ages 6 to 12 will learn how to transform their doodles and drawings into printable designs. Single day pricing is $20 for members or $25 for nonmembers.
