Glens Falls High School basketball standout Joe Girard III has finally made his long-awaited college decision. After weighing his final six options, Girard announced his choice at a press conference last Sunday.
Syracuse University, which boasts one of the top 10 men’s basketball teams in the country, will be welcoming Girard next fall! Girard made official visits to SU and to Boston College, another serious contender, but ultimately he decided to stay closer to home.
Girard is considered to be one of the top 3-point shooters in his class, and averaged 50 points per game for Glens Falls High School last year. He also holds the New York State scoring record, and figures to add significantly to his 3,306 career points this coming season.
