What to Expect at Baskets for Ben
Baskets for Ben, brought to us by the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, is happening on Friday, May 17th. The event comprises a live auction of valuable theme baskets donated by local residents and businesses, guided by auctioneer Mike Smith of Cherry Tree Auctions.
They’ll also be raffling off a Wheelbarrow of Wine, valued at $750, put together by Hope Rosati & Friends, and a custom-made Adirondack Fire Pit valued at $500 and forged by Monahan Metals .
Tickets cost $20 per person and include appetizers, desserts, a cash bar, door prizes, gift baskets, and entertainment by the talented Kyle Lewis. Reserve your tickets today by calling 518.792.4514; you can also purchase tickets at the door.
About the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund
Baskets for Ben benefits the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, a nonprofit created in memory of CPL Benjamin D. Osborn of Queensbury. Ben was killed during combat operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan on June 15, 2000, while serving in the US Army during Operation Enduring Freedom.
The fund supports kids in need throughout 50 schools in Warren, Washington, Saratoga, and Essex Counties. Goods and services provided include electronics, clothing, bedding, food, tutoring, school supplies, eyeglasses, field trip admission expenses, and more.
Baskets for Ben also donates to 12 local food pantries, and has so far helped out over 10,000 kids.
