Head out to Glens Falls this Saturday for the annual Kiwanis Family Fun Day and Duck Race at Havilands Cove Park in Glens Falls. Support local non-profit organizations while enjoying a day of food, fun, and the chance to win big.
The day’s events take place from 11 am to 2 pm and include fun activities for kids, like pony rides, a petting zoo, and a bounce house. Attendees can also ride a roaming railroad, get their faces painted, and take a picture together in a photo booth. Enjoy food and live music from a DJ, too!
The highlight of the day is the annual Million Dollar Duck Race at 12:31 pm. The first duck across the finish line will be awarded $2,019, and there will be over 50 prizes for runners up. The winner of the race also has a chance at the grand prize, as one of out one thousand duck numbers will be pre-selected to win a million dollars.
Each duck costs $5 and the money raised from the event will go to several local charities and organizations. You can get your tickets from the Kiwanis booth at the event, or stop by any of the organizations, which include community centers like the Greater Glens Falls Senior Center and the Moreau Community Center, children’s organizations such as Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks and Operation Santa Claus, social services organizations including Community, Work, & Independence, Inc. (CWI) and Southern Adirondack Independent Living Center (SAIL), as well as the Glens Falls Kiwanis Foundation.
