The World Awareness Children’s Museum has two events on Sunday the 15th and Monday the 16th you won’t want to miss out on. One of them is in anticipation of the upcoming Adirondack Balloon Festival!
Sensory Friendly Morning: Sunday, September 15th
The museum is hosting a Sensory Friendly Morning this Sunday from 10am to 12pm. The event is free for families with children who have sensory sensitivities or are on the autism spectrum.
They dim the lights, turn off exhibit sounds, and provide sensory equipment as needed, including headphones, weighted vests, and fidget toys. A special education teacher will be on site.
Hot Air Balloon Craft Workshop: Monday, September 16th
Got hot air balloons on the mind? Stop by the museum on Monday for a Hot Air Balloon Craft Workshop from 3:30pm to 4pm. The group will create vibrant 3-D paper balloons to hang around the house. This program is suitable for all ages and is free with admission.
You can check out a bounce house village provided by the museum each day of the Adirondack Balloon Festival – Thursday the 19th through Sunday the 22nd.
