Have a creative child in your life? Make sure they know about the World Awareness Children’s Museum 2019-2020 Young Artists Competition! If selected as a finalist, their artistic work will be presented in a finalists art show at the museum in January. The annual contest kicked off on September 1 and is open to submissions through Friday, November 15. Read on for more details.

The theme of this year’s Young Artists Competition is My Family Heritage and submissions should adhere to this topic, making this a great way for kids to explore their heritage in an imaginative way. Get out the pencils, watercolors, pastels, or crayons and see what kind of masterpiece they can create!
Only one submission is allowed for each child, who must be New York State residents aged Kindergarten through 8th grade. Art must be two-dimensional, sized 16 x 20 inches and under, unframed, and unmounted.
After the jury makes their selections on January 10, the finalists will present their work at an art show on Friday, January 24.
Contestants must fill out the bottom portion of their submission form along with their artwork by November 15 and submit it either by mail or in person to the World Awareness Children’s Museum, along with a $5 submission fee (cash or check). You can paper-clip a note with more information about the piece to the submission, but it’s not required.
It’s worth noting that the submissions and their rights become the property of the museum and might not be returned.
