If you don’t live in a neighborhood, taking the kids out to celebrate Halloween can be more of a trick than a treat. Not in Glens Falls! Head to Downtown this Saturday, October 26 for The Glens Falls Collaborative’s annual Halloween festival, Boo 2 You, for a fun afternoon of trick-or-treating, kids’ activities, and more.
On Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm, Glen Street and City Park will be transformed into a Halloween block party, and adults will be able to take kids trick-or-treating in the heart of Glens Falls. Businesses along Glen Street, organizations and guest businesses along “Candy Lane,” and residents of Cronin High Rise along Ridge Street (aka “Candy Row”) will all be handing out treats.
In addition to trick-or-treating, there will also be other fun activities and events, including:
- a Fun Zone with games, a petting zoo, and pony rides
- costumed characters
- performances from local dance schools
- Harry Potter-themed Hogwarts School at St. Mary’s-St. Alphonsus School on Church Street
Want to show off your jack o’ lantern carving skills? Boo 2 You is also introducing a Carved Pumpkin Contest this year. The pumpkins will be displayed on Ridge Street and voted on by the public, with prizes awarded at 4 pm outside the Charles R. Wood Theater. If you’d like to enter a pumpkin in the contest, you’ll need to preregister online by October 24.
Please note: to ensure everyone can enjoy trick-or-treating safely in Downtown, traffic won’t be allowed on Glen Street between Centennial Circle and South Street from 12:30 pm to 4 pm.
In the event of rain, Boo 2 You will be rescheduled for Sunday, October 27 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
