Fall fun is happening at nearby farms, scary movies are being shown at the Washington County Fairgrounds, and more – what are you up to over Columbus Day Weekend in Glens Falls?
Farm Fun & Foliage Drives
Saturday, October 10 – Sunday, October 11
Apple picking. Hayrides. Pumpkins. Bluegrass music. Cider donuts. And more! Head to Billy Bob’s Orchard in Putnam Station for all the fall fun!
Putnam Station is about an hour from Glens Falls, and this is a perfect opportunity for a gorgeous fall drive north up Routes 4 and 22. Make a point to stop in Whitehall on the way to take a picture with the Bigfoot statue on Route 4.
Saturday, October 10 – Sunday, October 11
This is the second weekend of the Fall Farm to Fiber Tour. Over 30 farms, fiber studios, and others participate in this eight-county event. Some of the tour stops are close to Glens Falls, like CarolKnits in Queensbury and Crazy Legs Farm in Fort Edward.
Saturday, October 10 – Sunday, October 18
Maple season may be in the spring, but Mapleland Farms in Salem is open for visitors starting on October 10 and running through the 18th. Take a self-guided walk on their sugarbush trail, learn about forest management, and try a new product: maple cotton candy.
Salem is about 40 minutes from Glens Falls, and this drive takes you through Fort Edward and Argyle. Battenkill Valley Creamery is on the way – this could be your last chance to nab some gourmet ice cream before the cold weather really sets in!
Movies in the Pumpkin Patch
Scary (but kid-friendly) movies take place each night this weekend at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Greenwich. There are different ticket options, including a bulk pass to all three.

The World Awareness Children’s Museum is using Columbus Day as an opportunity to teach young folks about the indigenous people of the state. (Space is limited, call ahead to reserve your spot.)
