Good News in the Glens Falls Region + Job Openings in the Area
Big Plans in the Works at West Mountain
The Foothills Business Daily reported that West Mountain is in the early stages of planning a $50 million development that will include up to 220 residential townhouse units, a new ski lift, and a small shopping plaza near the current Northwest Base Lodge. Their hope is to turn Queensbury into a ski-and-stay resort destination. Exciting!
By the way, West Mountain is open for some last-minute spring skiing this weekend. And, tickets to their treetop adventure course will go on sale soon, according to their website.
The Return of the Movie Theater!
Regal at Aviation Mall will reopen on May 14, according to The Post Star. New York State allowed movie theaters to reopen back in October, but many opted not to due to a lack of movies from the pandemic.
You Might Be Eligible for a Free Tax Service
Tri-County United Way has completed an impressive 1,300 tax returns to date for local families. Families in Warren, Washington, or Northern Saratoga Counties with an income of $57,000 or less per year are eligible to take advantage of this service.
They will not be offering this service past April 14, so be sure to call for an appointment as soon as possible: 1.800.211.5128.
Nominate Your COVID Hero
Brewnited, a group of local brewers who came together to help hospitality employees out of work due to COVID, have a new program: Nominate Your COVID Hero. If you know of someone who has gone out of their way to do something nice or special, or has made a situation easier for someone during the pandemic, you can send a gift card to this person through Brewnited to a local bar or restaurant.
