News Around Glens Falls With Parks & A Restaurant

Hovey Pond, Other Waterways Are Stocked With Trout
Brook trout and rainbow trout are now stocked in ponds, lakes, and other waterways around Warren County. Hovey Pond was the first to receive fish from the Warren County Fish Hatchery for this season, Queensbury Parks & Rec posted last Friday. Please note, new fishing regulations are in effect as of the first of this month.

Disc Golf Course Coming to Haviland Cove Park
Speaking of local park news, Haviland Cove is about to join Crandall Park as the City’s only places to play disc golf on a specified course. According to News 10 ABC, the 9-hole course is expected to be constructed this spring and summer, and is intended to be more beginner-friendly than Crandall Park’s 18-hole course. Because of its location, it will also have fewer trees and potential other barriers than Crandall’s.

As a reminder, there is also a disc golf course at Moreau Recreation Park in Fort Edward, and Garnet Hill Lodge in North Creek recently announced they’re adding the ever-growing sport to their array of activities as well.
Davidson’s Brothers Brewery Building Is for Sale for Nearly $2 Million
Davidson Brothers Brewery’s building is for sale, reports Foothills Business Daily, for $1.995 million. The building has actually been listed for about a year. The listing dictates that the brewery business is up for “additional consideration,” although Rick Davidson, one of the owners, clarified the point to the Glens Falls Chronicle; the business is not for sale. It may be up for consideration, but Rick has no plans to leave before his son is in college. It’s possible the building could be sold and then leased back to the Davidson family to run the restaurant.
In the meantime, the restaurant isn’t going anywhere. Check out the popular downtown Glens Falls brewpub Thursday 12pm to 8pm, Friday and Saturday 12pm to 9pm, or Sunday 12pm to 8pm.
