APE's 24 Hour Play Fest

About this event
Create, Compete, Collapse. Play Fest brings 70+ volunteers together for an unforgettable 24 hour race to put on a show. On Friday, March 14th all these volunteer actors, directors and writers will arrive at the Wood Theater.
Those brave souls will be randomly formed into eight to nine teams, each with 1 writer, 1 director and 3-4 actors. Then a theme for the Fest will be announced and teams will meet for 1 hour before writers go home to write their ten-minute plays (to the year’s theme) that also include a secret line revealed Friday.
Writers must email scripts by 5 AM on Saturday morning (March 15th) and at 7AM that same morning, teams assemble at the theater to receive their scripts AND a secret prop – then have until the curtain opens at 8 PM to rehearse, memorize and stage their ten-minute plays.
Our judges and audience members then vote for their favorites in a number of categories and winners are awarded!
All proceeds support the Wood Theater!
