Please note: The Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance has issued a statement that this Memorial Day Ceremony is cancelled for 2020. A small group from the Board will place a wreath and refresh the flags at the memorial. They do encourage everyone to remember the sacrifice these men and the many others buried in unknown graves in our area who died during Colonial Wars in defense of their homes and families.

In addition, the Board is planning on public event on September 7, 2020 (Labor Day) as a rememberance of the Battle of Lake George, September 8, 1755.

------------------------------

The Lake George Battlefield Park (Fort George) Alliance invites all to come out to remember and honor the four unknown soldiers of the Battle of Lake George 1755.

These are the oldest governmentally recognized Unknown American Soldiers in the United States, as far as we can determine. They are representative of all those others who died in this battle and others during the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War and are buried in unknown graves this area. At the conclusion of the ceremony there will be a musket salute to our fallen heroes.

Present will be members of the Lake George Fire Department, Lake George American Legion Post 374, Fort William Henry, Lake George Central School and the Lake George Battlefield (Fort George) Alliance.

A guided historical walk in the park follows the ceremony.
