this weekend was one of those crazy times when you’re happy and stressed at the same time. we had catering jobs (happily, this is the season) and my kids came to see mom’s new ‘digs’. so of course i have to find cleaning and shopping time, along with catering. luckily, the samantha’s crew pulled through with the catered events, and i did get beds made and bathrooms cleaned. i have only lived in bolton 7 weeks, so being settled has not happened. yet anyway. we spent much of saturday at the sagamore, where the children’s dad had rented a couple rooms. that was more exciting for 3 grandchildren than porch-sitting at my house. the beach and indoor pool were way cool and the place is beautiful. saturday was one of those perfect days, hot, but breezy and being with family whom i had not seen since thanksgiving made the day MORE than perfect. we ate all over bolton landing and grazed at my house. i had a large pan of our flakey bake chicken which is marinated breast strips, rolled in crushed cornflakes and parmesan cheese, baked in a hot oven, and very popular at the cafe. also at the cafe, we’re making boursin with an herb mix from northeast cornner herb farm and a roasted red pepper spread. we had those spreads on rosemary triscuits and newman’s lemonade. the kids ate strawberries and cheese sticks. as weekends go, this one was a winner, and then some!
