As you’ve wandered around downtown, have you fallen in love with a particular artist-created chair? Well, now’s your chance to own one.
On Wednesday, September 22 each and every one of these special pieces will be auctioned off to the lucky, generous and highest bidder. Here’s the scoop:
First of all, it’s FREE – no charge for admission. Secondly, there’s NO MINIMUM BID! We’re hoping it’s going to be a wacky and fun evening and someone may get the deal of the century!
Where will it be held? Well, you know that beautiful building that’s to the right of The Chocolate Mill on Glen Street? Yep, that’s the place…166 Glen to be exact. Generous building owner Tim Reed has let us have the auction in his incredibly restored space. He’s waiting for the perfect tenant to rent it from him and, in the meantime, he’s offering it up for our event. What a great guy! Thanks Tim & Suzanne!
The preview is at 6:30pm and the the live auction takes off at 7pm with the wonderfully entertaining and talented auctioneer Martin Seeyle, who is donating his services. Thanks Martin!
Refreshments will be provided by the lovely and gregarious Patty Bethel, owner of Cooper’s Cave Brewery & Pub. Thank you Patty!
If you are a serious bidder, and I hope you are, be prepared to take your prized chair home with you that evening. They’ll be plenty of bubble wrap and assistance to get it to your car. The chairs are well-sized to fit in the trunk of an average vehicle so you don’t have to worry about renting a U-Haul or anything of that nature.
Remember all proceeds go to Crandall Public Library, LARAC, the City Park Project, and the wonderful artists. So, I really, really do hope to see you there.
Bye for now, Alice
