Along with the turning of the autumn leaves, September will be turning out some pretty famous people to downtown Glens Falls.
Thundering in on his Freight Train Tour, Alan Jackson will be coming to the Glens Falls Civic Center on Saturday, September 11 at 7:30pm. I suspect it will be a sold out crowd considerin
g this talent – oh, and he sings really well, too! Alan (we’re on a first name basis even though he doesn’t know me) has sold more than 50 million albums and produced over 34 number one hits. Can you image? The tickets are pretty darn reasonable ($59 or $49). You can get them through Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000 or go in person to the Civic Center box office.
On Wednesday, September 29 at 7pm, Ed Asner of “Mary Tyler Moore Show” fame will be performing “FDR” at The Wood Theater. This one man show explores the life of our iconic American president as he reflects on all hs years in office, from inauguration to the terrible trials of World War II.
Mr. Asner is the recipient of 7 Emmy Awards and 16 nominations, 5 Golden Globes and a member of the TV Academy Hall of Fame. Tickets are a little pricey at $75.50 but worth every penny, I’m sure.
Aren’t we lucky to have both of these famous gentlemen coming to Glens Falls?
Bye for now, Alice
